St. John's-Kilmarnock School (SJK) is pleased to offer scholarships valued up to 65% of published fees for new Upper School students entering Grades 7-11 in September 2012.
Interested students must be new applicants to the school and have a strong motivation to excel in academics and embrace the school's programmes, mission and values. Students with strong university oriented grades, a global outlook, athletic or artistic (music, art, drama) ability are encouraged to apply. Students must be ready to meet the demands of the International Baccalaureate programme.
To Apply:
- Complete the full application and be accepted in one of the application rounds.
- Complete a scholarship entrance application and provide a reference evaluation from your present school Principal/Vice-Principal.
- Take an entrance examination.
Students accepted into scholarship are expected to abide by all school policies and families agree to pay the costs related to fees and additional expenses less the scholarship value. Scholarships are for the duration of their studies at SJK conditional on academic record and involvement in full school life and exemplary citizenship.
Bursaries at SJK
SJK is committed to ensuring access to students of merit regardless of means, however, as a not-for-profit fee dependent school financial resources are limited. New and returning families interested in financial aid support to attend SJK may contact the Director of Enrolment and Marketing, to discuss bursary options. Interested students must be new applicants to the school and have a strong motivation to excel in academics and embrace the school's programmes, mission and values. Students with strong university oriented grades, a global outlook, athletic or artistic (music, art, drama) ability are encouraged to apply. Bursary applicants must complete an independent financial assessment through Apple Financial Services for eligibility. Recommendations by Apple Financial are not a guarantee of financial aid. Assessments are required on an annual basis for returning families. Scholarship recipients are also eligible for bursary assistance.
Students with bursaries are expected to abide by all school policies and families agree to pay the costs related to fees and additional expenses less the bursary value. Bursaries are determined for one year of study, ideally with extensions based on a minimum average, involvement in full school life and exemplary citizenship.
