SJK Endowment and Scholarship/Bursary Funds
A sound endowment marks a financially strong future.
In order to maintain the highest standard of education and develop long-range plans, St. John's-Kilmarnock School requires a stable base of funding - stability that is provided by a strong endowment.
What are Endowed Funds?
Endowment funds allow SJK to build a portfolio of invested funds. The principal is held in a safe and secure pool of conservative investments and only a portion of annual interest is used to fund projects today and into the future. Because the fund's principal is held in perpetuity, an endowment increases over time and lasts forever. A gift to the SJK Endowment Fund is truly a gift that keeps on giving.
SJK's endowment income will fund a wide variety of scholarships and bursaries. Each year, parents in our community who face unexpected financial constraints turn to SJK for assistance with tuition and other school fees. The ability to provide student financial assistance in the form of scholarship and bursary support is a priority for the School.
