Upper School - Grades 9 to 12
Full personal growth and emphasis on academic discipline are the core components of the Upper School. Students receive a liberal education in sciences, mathematics, humanities, fine arts and technology, and thus consolidate a passion for learning and exploring areas of personal interest in preparation for university level study.
Individualized guidance and career counselling and an adviser program assist students in making informed decisions about their post-secondary studies. Critical thinking, creative self-expression, problem-solving skills and an emphasis on independent analysis are central approaches to the program. Students are expected to handle a full and challenging academic portfolio, enriched by participation in the school community (athletics and co-curricular activities) and beyond (community service).
SJK offers Advanced Placement exams in a number of subjects, enabling students to apply for advanced standing in some of the world's leading universities.
