  • Does SJK Have A Bus Transportation Program?

Yes! We offer bus transportation from Cambridge, Kitchener/Waterloo, and Guelph, and some rural areas within the vicinity of these cities.

There is an additional cost for bus transportation. We ask that families register for bus transportation in late June. Our busing provider will design their routes based on participation.

The morning bus drops students at the school at approximately 8:15 a.m. The bus departs after school at 3:30 p.m.

  • Is Financial Assistance Available?

SJK is committed to ensuring access to students of merit regardless of means. However, as a not-for-profit, fee-dependent school, the resources available for Financial Assistance are limited.

We offer a limited number of partial bursaries to new and returning SJK students. Unfortunately, SJK is not in a position to offer full scholarships.

If you feel that you need Financial Assistance in order to make SJK a possibility for your family, we welcome you to apply.

First, submit your child’s application for admission. SJK only reviews Financial Assistance applications from admitted students. Once your child has been admitted to SJK, we welcome you to submit an application for Financial Assistance.

Submit your application online to Apple Financial Services. Please note that there is an application fee of $130.00.

Please note that Financial Assistance is distributed on a first come-first served basis. We encourage you to apply early as possible.
  • Does SJK Have A Meal Plan?

Yes! Students enjoy a healthy, hot lunch prepared daily by our Red Seal certified chef. The meal plan includes a daily morning snack and lunch, which includes three main course options, homemade soup, salads, fresh fruit, and sandwiches.

Creating healthy food is just as important as creating delicious food at SJK. Nutritionists work with our Chef to create menus that ensure delicious, healthy meals for SJK students. Our Food Services Team sources food from local Canadian producers, greenhouse growers and dedicated farmers who meet their high standards. Seasonal produce, chicken, pork, dairy and cheese all come from Ontario. Beef is 100% Canadian. There is a daily “seasonal plate” which features ingredients entirely sourced from Ontario.

Does your child have an allergy or special dietary requirement? Our Chef can work with you to ensure that your child’s needs are met.
  • How Many New Students Do You Admit Each Year?

SJK has an average class size of seventeen students.

SJK has a student body consisting of approximately 525 students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Space availability can be very limited in some grades. Unfortunately, SJK cannot accommodate all qualified applicants. We encourage interested applicants to apply early.

New students are warmly welcomed to SJK by their peers and our faculty and SJK is committed to supporting new students as they adjust to life in their new school.
  • Can SJK Accommodate Students with IEP's And/Or Identified Learning Challenges?

If your child has an Individual Education Plan or has undergone a Psycho-Educational assessment in the past, please provide us with a copy of this documentation along with the application. We will invite you to meet with our Learning Strategist as well as the Upper/Lower School Director to further discuss your child’s needs.

We look forward to partnering with you to determine whether SJK is the best fit for your child and to develop a support plan in order to ensure your child’s success and happiness at SJK.
  • What Is The Cost To Attend SJK?

Read more about tuition fees by exploring the Tuition and Fees page for your child’s grade.

There are some additional costs to consider. Please note that in addition to tuition, a non-refundable Registration Fee of $2,000.00, payable upon enrolment, will apply to all new students. Other Optional Services include items such as Uniforms, the Lunch Program and Transportation.
  • Where Do Your Graduates Attend University?

SJK graduates, with support from our guidance department, earn post-secondary opportunities that best match their skills, aspirations, and character.

Recent graduates are currently attending top universities all over the world. In recent years, 100% of our graduates have been admitted to their top choice institution. Canadian universities continue to be the most popular choices for our graduates, with Waterloo, Western, McGill, Queen's, and Laurier being our top five destinations.

Our Head of Guidance will meet with students regularly, beginning in Grade 10, to discuss post-secondary goals, interests, and options. Course selection is a collaborative process and students carefully consider their post-secondary goals, in addition to their skills and interests, when selecting their IB Diploma Programme courses. SJK is Waterloo Region's SAT test centre, and our Head of Guidance can assist students interested in studying in the United States, ensuring that students excel in all components of the comprehensive application.
