Ms. Emily Ward believes learning should energize and inspire. Embracing an inquiry approach to education, she nurtures students' curiosity while encouraging a growth mindset.
Ms. Ward was born and raised in Toronto. She started her Canadian teaching career at Branksome Hall and after 8 years she now joins the SJK community. Ms. Ward is an experienced IB educator who supports students to be internationally minded critical thinkers while cultivating wellness. She continues to develop her approaches to teaching and learning, obtaining five IB certifications.
Graduating from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Education, specializing in English Language Learner support, coupled with her experience as an English Teacher in South Korea, Ms. Ward excels at supporting a broad spectrum of learners in multicultural environments. Her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Theatre combined with her intensive triple threat Musical Theatre training allows her to connect with and inspire students through the Arts; utilizing students' own creativity to experience and express learning.
