SJK announces new Athletic Facility

The School is pleased to announce it has confirmed the plan to begin development and construction of SJK’s new Athletic Facility; a seven-million-dollar, state-of-the-art facility to support student athletics and community programming, as well as to continue to develop our School’s profile in the community and region.  And significantly, the largest fundraising gift in the history of the School!

This fantastic new facility will include an ice rink, fitness rooms, home and visitor change rooms, events rooms, and an artificial turf field for multi-outdoor use including field hockey and soccer. Additionally, the facility will address the need for extra storage, maintenance space, and importantly, additional on-campus parking and a second entry/exit point to Shantz Station Road.

The building itself will be beautiful, and importantly, will complement the natural look of our campus and Newton House, with considerable and attractive glass and matching stone cladding. This exciting project aligns with our Campus Master Plan and will impact our students shortly as we anticipate a possible breaking ground ceremony in the fall of 2018, with completion approximately a year later.
