Service Recognition

This year four of our employees whose long service was recognized and appreciated. We are grateful to them for their service.

Andrew Duszczyszyn
Andrew (perhaps known by many as Mr. D) is celebrating ten years of service at SJK. Andrew is our Director of Development and in this role he is responsible for Marketing, Communications Admissions, and IT leadership. His knowledge and expertise in the world of technology has taken us to new heights and we are grateful for his patience and guidance over the years. Two years ago Andrew brought CIS TechFest to SJK which was a highly effective professional learning conference for educators and IT specialists.  He is our onsite Blackbaud expert and an expert data analyst, helping us make strategic decisions for our school. Andrew is known for going above and beyond. He has taken on the role of coaching our SJK Hockey Team and works hard to prepare our Chalmers Pond during the winter months for our family skates. Congratulations on ten great years, Mr. D! We appreciate your leadership and deep commitment to SJK.

Rosemary Langel
Rosemary is our Chief Financial Officer and is celebrating her tenth anniversary with SJK this year. She has a keen eye for detail, proven leadership skills and expertly manages the Finance Team for SJK. Previous to SJK, Rosemary has over twenty years of experience working for companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. We are fortunate to have someone with her expertise as our CFO. Rosemary is a strong member of the Leadership Team at SJK, the Joint Health and Safety Committee as well as the Risk Management Team. Beyond our finances, she also manages the bussing, facilities and food services contracts for the school. Thank you, Rosemary, for your leadership and dedication to the school!

Jennifer Wilkinson
We would like to thank Jennifer for her 15 years of service at SJK. After teaching in the UK and Australia, Jen joined our school in 2005. She has taught several grade levels in the Lower School during her time with us including Grade 3, 1 and is currently teaching Grade 6. Jen is the Assistant Director of the Lower School. She has responsibility for PYP coordination and as well as Lower School Learning Support. She has co-led the Lower School Student Council and Grade 6 Action Team, facilitating leadership opportunities for our student leaders. Jen has also had a big role in our Lower School musicals, arranging choreography for the performers. Congratulations, Jennifer, and thank you for the positive impact you have on students and our school.

Carey Gallagher
Carey is celebrating 20 years at SJK! Carey began her educational career by teaching abroad in Hong Kong before beginning her SJK adventure (as she calls it) in September 2000. She has taught a variety of subjects over the last twenty years and is viewed as one of our resident IB experts, having been instrumental in bringing the Middle Years Programme to the school. Carey is always on the search for inspiration and devotes much of her time to helping students to find theirs. Carey is a very compassionate teacher and strives to make others feel proud of their accomplishments. Carey plays a key role as Assistant Director of Upper School. Her leadership continues to go beyond the classroom as she enjoys coaching and mentoring young students. Congratulations to Carey on her twenty years of service to SJK! We appreciate all that you do for our students and our school.
