Teacher Reflection: New Expressions

Denise Mouton
While remote learning in her Junior Kindergarten class has been smooth, Mrs. Mouton wondered how some of her quiet, reserved students would embrace the change. She's been pleasantly surprised to see students come into their own and share a more expressive side with the class.
"Vivienne has been so inspired by the Seesaw recordings that she is opening up and creating her own videos. In the classroom, Vivienne is typically a quiet and reserved student who enjoys working one to one with a teacher or in small groups of friends. During this time of remote learning from the comfort and safety of her home, we now have the opportunity to see another side of Vivienne.

In her videos she is expressive, funny and fully engaged in all of our learning activities. Although I know she truly misses her friends and our SJK community, myself and Mrs. Biffis feel very lucky to get to know this side of her and feel even more closely connected despite our physical distance."
