Ms. Zantingh possesses nearly 30 years of global experience as an IB educator and leader. She has taught in both the Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes. She is an IB-trained educator, workshop leader and site evaluator. She is a strong believer in inquiry-based teaching and learning and appreciates how this framework allows schools to offer innovative interdisciplinary and experiential learning opportunities for students. Most recently, she was the Assistant Principal, Senior School (MYP - Grades 6 through 10) at St. John's School, Vancouver, Canada where she also oversaw the Middle Years Programme. Previously, Ms. Zantingh has taught and led at IB schools in Switzerland, Tanzania, Colombia and Angola where she has held a variety of roles.

Ms. Zantingh’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography, a Diploma in Teacher Librarianship, a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Educational Technology all from the University of British Columbia, and a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.  She is currently enrolled in the Independent School Leadership Diploma through Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS).

The Waterloo Region is very familiar to Ms. Zantingh, having grown up in Chatham, Ontario and spent time studying viola with a professor at the University of Guelph in her youth. She is excited to be returning home to Ontario, close to family, and taking on the exciting challenge of leading SJK’s academic program.
