Mrs. Andrea de Boer-Jones grew up with a love of music and choral expression in particular. After studying music at Wilfrid Laurier and McGill, Mrs. de Boer-Jones made it her mission to foster the love of music and sense of community through choral expression. Since joining SJK in 2015, she has helped develop the choral music program for PYP and MYP students, as well as the Lower School and Upper School choirs. Mrs. de Boer-Jones plays a crucial role in coordinating whole-school assemblies, musical productions, theatrical arts productions and special performances, such as when the SJK Singers join other independent school choirs at the Conference of Independent Schools Music Festival held annually at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto.

She is inspired by those who feel excitement when sharing their musical journey with others and her personal objective is to create an environment that fosters a lifelong love of music by engaging children to explore many facets of music in order to find their passions. Mrs. de Boer-Jones is the conductor of the Grand Philharmonic Children's Choir, a very elite choir in the region, which connects SJK to the local talent in the region. Mrs. de Boer-Jones feels that through practical skills and musicianship, children are encouraged to discover their musical talents and gain a sense of confidence in themselves.
