Student Poem: Every Storm Has An End
Manuela M.
We encourage students to take time to reflect on how this global situation has made them feel, as well as the thoughts it has invoked.
One of our Upper School students, Manuela, composed a poem to capture her optimism for the future.
There is a sadness
out of which happiness is sown.
There is a crushing sorrow
out of which tears of joy flow.
There is an excruciating pain
out of whose depths strength grows.
There is a darkness
out of which brilliant light glows.
There is a trail of broken dreams
from which a moment of awakening arrives
There is a terrible numbness
from which the senses come alive.
There are grievances
that make true happiness known
There is deep longing
For the bliss of long ago
There is a heavy burden
that with a little hope, can be lifted from the soul
