Mrs. Baird started her career in education in South Africa and England, prior to immigrating to Canada in 1991. Initially a Junior Kindergarten teacher at SJK, she is now the Director of Teaching & Learning at SJK. Mrs. Baird believes that all children can learn and that developing confidence and a positive self-esteem provides the foundation for success. Providing hands-on, real experiences allows children to make discoveries and connect new learning in a meaningful way. As a strong believer in the importance of creating a culture of kindness, the warm and caring SJK community is one of her favourite things about the School. She is inspired by the everyday, ordinary miracles around her. Traveling to new destinations is a passion for Mrs. Baird and provides opportunities to pursue her interests in scuba diving, bike riding, swimming, photography and exploring new food and cultures. Mrs. Baird and her husband, Jim live in Guelph and have two amazing children.
