Coming from a family of educators who fostered her love of lifelong learning, Ms. Jackie Strimas built a career at the intersection of education and social work. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Guelph before pursuing social work studies at McGill University (BSW) and the University of Toronto (MSW). As a social worker, she provided support and mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults in both healthcare and post-secondary education settings.
Her passion for teaching led her back to the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), where she earned a Bachelor of Education and became an Ontario Certified Teacher. Today, Ms. Strimas is eager to blend her experience and knowledge in both fields to support students at SJK.
Drawn to the School’s belief in the “power of developmental relationships,” Ms. Strimas is thrilled to join the Learning Services Team. She is committed to inclusion, access, and service to the community, and is deeply passionate about supporting learners in reaching their full potential.
Outside of school, she enjoys theatre, spending time with family and friends, and exploring green spaces.
